San Francisco-based cryptocurrency exchange Kraken is preparing to re-enter the Indian market after being banned in 2024 for non-compliance with anti-money laundering laws. The company has appointed Shiprocket co-founder Vishesh Khurana as an advisor to lead its India operations. Kraken plans to engage with local authorities to secure the necessary licenses and ensure compliance with India's financial regulations. This move aligns with the company's global expansion strategy and coincides with other major exchanges, such as Coinbase, also considering a return to the Indian market.
