The Senate of Kazakhstan has passed a bill to control cryptocurrencies and related activities. The new law "On Digital Assets in the Republic of Kazakhstan," along with other legal documents, will form the basis for a cryptocurrency ecosystem in the country. Parliament members discussed the comprehensive package in January, suggesting changes to the previously approved version by the Mazhilis. However, President Tokayev dissolved the lower house and called for early elections on Jan 19.
