Jersey Police are warning residents of the island about the dangers of cryptocurrency fraud after an islander lost £700,000 to a scam. The victim was contacted by someone who claimed to be from a cryptocurrency investment company and was persuaded to invest a large sum of money. The victim then lost all of their money when the company turned out to be fraudulent. Police are urging people to be wary of any unsolicited investment offers, especially those that involve cryptocurrencies. They are also reminding people to do their research before investing in any cryptocurrency or other investment opportunity.
