Four people have been detained by Hong Kong Customs in connection with a significant money laundering investigation involving cryptocurrency. Over the last 15 months, the suspects have laundered a total of HK$1.2 billion ($150 million) through bank accounts in Singapore. A total of HK$880 million was laundered in digital currencies, with the remaining $350 million being laundered using traditional techniques. Authorities have frozen HK$20 million in suspicious bank accounts that they believe are linked to the illegal proceeds.
