The native token of Web3 social network Friend.tech, FRIEND, has experienced a significant drop in value following the announcement by one of the protocol’s co-founders, known as Racer, of intentions to part ways with Base, the Ethereum Layer-2 network developed by Coinbase that hosts the project. Racer's statement, offering a $200K bounty for a system design that could migrate Friend.tech off of Base without causing major user issues, has raised concerns among investors and users. The decline in FRIEND's value reflects the uncertainty surrounding the project's future and its potential migration away from Base, highlighting the challenges faced by Web3 projects reliant on specific blockchain infrastructure.
