Riccardo Spagni, the former lead developer of the Monero (XMR) cryptocurrency, was arrested last month in Nashville, Tennessee. As per the court documents, Spagni committed invoice payment fraud during his time working as an IT manager for a South Africa-based cookie company, Cape Cookies. A hearing will occur on August 5th, and Spagni is expected to get 20 years of jail if convicted for the alleged crimes.
