Five individuals were arrested in Hyderabad’s Tolichowki area for duping a man in a cryptocurrency scam involving USDT. The victim, P. Sai Prasad Reddy, met the accused via Reddit, where they promised to sell crypto worth ₹10 lakh. During an in-person meeting, the group created a distraction and fled with ₹7.55 lakh in cash. Hyderabad police recovered the money and filed charges under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Key accused Syed Irfan remains absconding. This case adds to a growing trend of crypto-related frauds in Hyderabad, involving fake apps, Telegram groups, and international links. Authorities urge vigilance in all crypto dealings.
