The U.S. Department of Justice has announced a June 5, 2025, deadline for victims of the AML Bitcoin scam to file for restitution. The case involves Rowland Marcus Andrade, who pleaded guilty to wire fraud after defrauding investors out of more than $5 million through a misleading initial coin offering (ICO). Andrade falsely claimed the cryptocurrency AML Bitcoin was superior to Bitcoin in security and regulatory compliance. Victims must submit claims through the Justice Department’s website. The scam, active between 2017 and 2018, is part of broader federal efforts to hold fraudulent crypto promoters accountable and compensate defrauded investors.
