A fake Skype app is circulating online that can be used to steal cryptocurrency funds. The app is designed to look like the legitimate Skype app, but it contains malware that can intercept and replace the recipient addresses when users are sending cryptocurrency. The app has been linked to a previous scam that targeted Binance users. In that scam, victims were tricked into downloading a fake Binance app that also stole their cryptocurrency funds. The AMF, a French blockchain security company, has warned users about the fake Skype app and advised them to only download apps from trusted sources. The company also recommends that users use two-factor authentication to protect their cryptocurrency accounts.
