He believes these projects lack substance and longevity, and that financialization should serve a worthy purpose beyond just enriching celebrities and early investors. Buterin advocates for more responsible and meaningful crypto projects that have clear public benefit goals, longevity (ideally lasting over 10 years), and engaging features beyond simple token trading. He cites Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis' Stoner Cats project as an example of a more respectable celebrity crypto project that funded an actual show.
