The Ethereum Foundation has received $250,000 from a collection of DeFi initiatives and the US crypto exchange Kraken. Client teams working on the Ethereum (ETH) 2.0 upgrade will benefit from the funds. With the changes, ETH will go from a proof-of-work to a proof-of-stake method. Etherscan data shows that at the time of writing, 4.85 ETH worth around $15,300 is being burned per minute.
