Billy Markus, the co-founder of Dogecoin, recently stirred up the long-running mystery of Bitcoin's creator by speculating that Hal Finney and a group of friends could be Satoshi Nakamoto. This came in response to a new HBO documentary suggesting that Bitcoin developer Peter Todd might be Satoshi. Markus rejected this claim and instead pointed to Finney, a respected cryptographer who was involved in Bitcoin’s earliest days and even received the first Bitcoin transaction from Satoshi. Despite Finney’s significant role, he consistently denied being Satoshi before passing away in 2014.
