A Delhi man fell victim to a cryptocurrency scam while seeking a partner on a matrimonial website. Posing as a prospective match, the scammer convinced the victim to invest in a fraudulent cryptocurrency scheme promising high returns. Trusting the scammer's fabricated success stories and fake online profiles, the man transferred significant funds into the scheme. Realizing he had been duped after repeated losses and no returns, the victim reported the incident to the police. Authorities have warned users of dating and matrimonial platforms to remain cautious about financial discussions to avoid falling prey to such deceptive tactics.
