The decentralized finance (DeFi) protocol Platypus Finance has suffered another flash loan attack, losing over $2 million in the process. This is the second time in recent months that Platypus has been attacked by flash loan exploiters. The attacker borrowed a large amount of stablecoins from the Aave lending protocol and used them to manipulate the price of Platypus' native token, USP. The attacker then sold the USP tokens for a profit, repaying the flash loan and leaving Platypus with a loss. PeckShield, a security firm, has not yet released the exact details of the attack, but it is believed that the attacker exploited a vulnerability in Platypus' smart contract code. Platypus has since confirmed the attack and said that it is working to recover the lost funds.
