Cybercriminals are using the Israel-Hamas conflict to spread cryptocurrency fundraising scams on Telegram and Instagram. The scammers are creating fake accounts and posing as charities to solicit donations in cryptocurrency. They are using emotive messages and gory images to lure unsuspecting victims into sending them money. To avoid crypto fundraising scams, be wary of any charity that asks for donations in cryptocurrency, do your research before donating to any charity, be skeptical of any charity that promises high returns on investment, do not send money directly to a cryptocurrency wallet address, and report any suspicious crypto fundraising scams to the authorities.
