Cybercriminals are exploiting Labubu’s popularity to run a new crypto scam, warns Digital Risk Protection firm F6. Fraudsters created a fake website offering an “AirDrop” of a Labubu meme token, unrelated to any official project. Victims attempting to claim tokens are prompted to connect their crypto wallets, granting scammers access to view balances and later approve asset transfers. Labubu, a collectible plush by Pop Mart turned cultural icon, attracts large fanbases, making it a lucrative target for fraud. Experts advise avoiding unverified sites, only engaging with official airdrop sources, and treating any request for full wallet permissions as a red flag.
