The South Korean cryptocurrency exchange Upbit was targeted by hackers 159,000 times in the first half of 2023, a significant increase from the 50,000 attacks it experienced in the same period last year. The increase in attacks could be due to Upbit's large user base and high trading volume. It is also possible that Upbit is a more attractive target for hackers because it has been the target of a number of successful hacks in the past, including a $50 million hack in 2019.
