Telegram has since avoided further action, citing deference to Chinese regulations, drawing criticism for allowing scam markets to resurface. Experts warn these groups enable widespread exploitation and crime. Without stronger enforcement or cooperation from governments, Telegram’s limited efforts risk being ineffective, allowing crypto scams and associated abuse to thrive once more on the platform despite previous purges.
