Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson has unveiled plans for the upcoming Midnight upgrade, a privacy-focused sidechain within the Cardano ecosystem. Midnight aims to enable secure, private, and compliant data interactions across multiple blockchains. A key feature of this upgrade is the "Glacier Drop," an airdrop targeting 37 million users, including holders of major cryptocurrencies like BTC, ETH, ADA, XRP, and others . The airdrop will distribute two new tokens: NIGHT, serving as the governance token, and DUST, designed for private transactions . Midnight's integration of zero-knowledge cryptography and private smart contracts aims to enhance blockchain interoperability while ensuring regulatory compliance .
