Blackbird, a crypto restaurant app, has raised $24 million in funding led by Andreessen Horowitz (a16z). The app allows users to tap into restaurants using their phone's NFC chip and mint an NFT membership, which grants them access to rewards and perks, such as early access to new restaurants, exclusive discounts, and invitations to events. Blackbird is built on Coinbase's Layer-2 Base blockchain and uses the $FLY token to power its rewards program. Users can earn $FLY by dining at participating restaurants and by completing other tasks, such as referring friends and signing up for newsletters. Blackbird is currently available in New York City, and it plans to expand to other cities in the United States and worldwide.
