The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has fined BlackRock $2.5 million and delisted its Bitcoin exchange-traded fund (ETF) from the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) website. The SEC alleges that BlackRock failed to disclose all of the relevant information to investors about its Bitcoin ETF, including the fact that the ETF would be using a synthetic replication strategy. BlackRock has denied any wrongdoing and has said that it is considering appealing the SEC's decision. The SEC's actions are a sign that the regulator is serious about protecting investors in the cryptocurrency market.
