Seoul Central District Court acquitted former Bithumb chairman Lee Jung-hoon on fraud charges related to the exchange's acquisition. Lee had been accused of defrauding BK Group CEO Kim Byung-Gun by selling him pre-issued BXA tokens without disclosing their existence to investors. The court ruled that there was insufficient evidence to support the charges. Prosecutors appealed the court's decision, arguing that Lee had engaged in a deceptive scheme to profit from the sale of the BXA tokens. They also pointed to the fact that Lee had failed to disclose the sale of the tokens to Bithumb's board of directors.
