Binance CEO Changpeng "CZ" Zhao has alerted the crypto community to a sophisticated scam involving "mirrored" wallet addresses. Scammers create addresses that closely resemble a user's own, often matching the beginning and ending characters. They then send minimal amounts of cryptocurrency, known as "dust," to the victim's wallet. When the user copies and pastes this familiar-looking address for future transactions, they may inadvertently transfer funds to the scammer. To safeguard against this, CZ advises users to verify every character of wallet addresses before initiating transactions and to consider using blockchain domains, which provide human-readable addresses, reducing the risk of errors.
