U.S. attorney’s office has charged two suspects in connection with the hacking of cryptocurrency exchange EtherDelta in December 2017. The suspect's names- Elliot Gunton and Anthony Tyler Nashatka are charged for modifying the EtherDelta domain name setting to defraud users of the exchange. Both the suspects were able to get the cell phone number of an EtherDelta employee through an elaborate scheme involving the cell phone service provider. Gunton and Nashatka have stolen from hundreds of EtherDelta users in which one particular client lose more than $800,000 in the theft.
