In an exclusive interview, Avail co-founder Anurag Arjun discussed rebranding Matic to Polygon and creating Avail to support future crypto infrastructure. He emphasized the importance of rollups for blockchain's future and mentioned Avail's development of the data availability layer, Avail DA, and the unification layer, Nexus. Arjun reflected on the early challenges of building Matic with limited resources. The 2020 rebrand to Polygon expanded their scope beyond the Proof-of-Stake chain. Despite the MATIC token being tied to the PoS chain, changing its name was deemed too complex, though the upgrade from MATIC to POL has begun.
