Trump Tests Positive For COVID19, Bitcoin And Stocks Goes Down
Today U.S. President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump tested positive for Covid-19 resulting in stock markets into a downward spiral. The bitcoin and crypto market has also gone red at the moment.
The test was conducted by one of the closest aides of Trump, POTUS. The test was positive for Trump as well as for the first lady.
Trump tweeted,
Tonight, @FLOTUS and I tested positive for COVID-19. We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately. We will get through this TOGETHER!
Stock markets at the global level have slid down heavily and the crypto markets are following them downwards at the time of writing.
As the news came, Bitcoin fell 2.5% dropping from $10,660 to $10,390 according to Tradingview.com. A few hours later a huge fall was recorded after the BitMEX news.
At the time of writing, a small portion was recovered that put the bitcoin at $10,470. However, looking at the longer-term view, Bitcoin is still within its range-bound channel and this reaction by the news-selling bears has been just a blip.
The other markets such as Australia ASX are down by 1.35%, in the US S&P 500 futures fell about 2%.
Although, there is an increase in gold by 0.32% standing at $1908 after falling to a low of $1888 in early Asian trading hours.
