Progressive Care to Accept Bitcoin for Covid 19 Testing
Florida-based Progressive Care, a company operating a chain of pharmacies in the United States, will now accept bitcoin (BTC) as payment for Covid-19 fast testing at its Pharmcorx locations.
CEO Alan Jay Weisberg pointed out that this option will allow "those with an alternative view of payment systems to get the testing services they require." The executive also stated:
We believe in the future of blockchain technologies, generally speaking, and we want to extend our market-leading services in rapid Covid-19 testing solutions to those who prefer to pay through Bitcoin.
Moreover, Weisberg also notified that by accepting cryptocurrency, the pharmacy chain would offer an alternative for post-pandemic tourists coming from abroad. This decision was unveiled on the eve of the Bitcoin 2021 conference in Miami.
The forum attracted over 50,000 visitors from abroad to the Miami metropolitan area. The company has also generated a QR code for the bitcoin payments to cater to the cryptocurrency community's needs.
