Cardano Beats Bitcoin As Most Preferred Ethereum Alternative
Recently, creator Vitalik Buterin posted a Twitter poll where Cardano edged out Bitcoin as the currency of choice.
In a poll, Buterin asked his 3.1 million followers, What currency besides Ethereum would prefer to be used in 80% of all global transactions by 2035, with Bitcoin, ADA, USD, and Solana’s SOL as the choices.
Around 600,000 responded to the poll, where 42% preferred Cardano (ADA) as the dominant currency in the future, beating out Bitcoin’s 38.4%, SOL’s 13.1%, and USD’s 6.5%.
The Cardano Blockchain’s native Cryptocurrency ADA was founded by Ethereum co-founder Charles Hoskinson. The asset has always been the candidate in the “Ethereum killer” debate, which identifies rival Blockchains that can dethrone the market leader.
Since Buterin’s poll on January 14, Cardano has rallied over 13%, currently trading at $1.42. Another Ethereum killer, Solana has grabbed the fifth position in the Crypto top 10, according to CoinMarketCap.
The rally of ADA comes after the 50% loss of its value since hitting an all-time high of US$3.10 in September.
Additionally, Buterin posted a second Twitter poll, and TRON was the currency of choice among 51.3% out of nearly 360,000 voters, beating out BNB’s 22.8%, Chinese yuan’s 4.1%, and NEO’s 21.8% of the votes.
