It is utilized to pat the Chainlink node operators for formatting data into blockchain readable formats, off-chain computation, retrieving data from off-chain data feed and uptime guarantees the operators provide.

ChainLink is a middleware-based blockchain oracle platform which links the real-world applications. It connects between cryptocurrency’s smart contracts, off-chain resources like API, data feeds and traditional bank accounts payment. In this way, it lets smart contract communicate to external resources by themselves.
