Overview

NEM is a platform for peer-to-peer crypto and is written in Java and JavaScript with a 100% source code.

The goal stated by NEM is of the wide distribution model and the introduction of the new features in blockchain technology in its POI (proof-of-importance) algorithm. It also features an encrypted messaging system, integrated P2P secure, Eigentrust++ reputation system and multi-signature accounts. NEM has been through an extensive open alpha testing starting June 25th, 2014 and followed by a comprehensive and lengthy beta testing starting on October 20th, 2014. However, NEM finally was launched on May 31st, 2015.
