MKR is an Ethereum based asset that backs Dai’s value which is a stable price and a stable coin issued on Ethereum. Maker receives continuous fees on all outstanding Dai in return for taking the risk of bailouts and governing the system. Maker’s income is channeled to MKR owners by the BuyBack program (Buy&Born).
