The 5 Things We Need To Address With “Crypto Skeptics”
Cryptocurrency is everywhere. It’s even something that, these days, our grandparents are aware of! Cryptocurrency is incredibly popular, but if you have seen a positive impact on cryptocurrency and you've invested in it yourself, you may find yourself up against a barrage of skepticism. While it's something that many businesses and professional entities are coming round to, what about the people on the street? Because if you are weary of describing cryptocurrency, what are the things that you need to iron out with the skeptics?
Cryptocurrency Is Not Completely “Unsafe”
We can all point to times when cryptocurrency was unsafe and was open to a lot of market manipulation. But, just like the stock market, if you invest in cryptocurrency you've got to address your tolerance to risk.
Because cryptocurrency is something that doesn't operate in the “real world,” it is hardly a surprise that people are more skeptical about it. But with the rise of Bitcoin ATMs and it being in popular culture more, this is something that you can use as a real-world example.
Cryptocurrency Is Actually Valuable
The people who have misconceptions about cryptocurrency are also the same people that have misconceptions about finances and investing. People talk about the instability of cryptocurrency, and if you know people that are trying to put you off it, you can always refer them to the market crashes that have occurred with the US dollar over the last 100 years!
Cryptocurrency has value because it can help you to trade funds with anybody. In fact, there are many ways that cryptocurrency can be more beneficial than traditional currency. Something that makes people twitchy is that it's a decentralized currency. But people are now becoming less trusting of large banking corporations, so cryptocurrency might prove to be a way to have more ownership over your finances without necessarily putting your trust in a centralized organization that charges fees for transferring money.
Most people have to diversify their income, especially when it comes to investments. And for many people that work on their own business or are dealing with customers or clients on the other side of the world, cryptocurrency can be an amazing way to receive the full payment without being charged by the bank for the currency exchange.
Bitcoin Transactions Are Not Expensive
Bitcoin and cryptocurrency transactions are one of the cheapest methods of transaction. The fact is that the US dollar is controlled by a centralized government and has a limitless supply, but it is also prone to inflation. Bitcoin and cryptocurrency have value because they are easy to exchange, they are safer than many alternatives, but it is easy to buy into crypto through the number of crypto wallet suppliers out there.
Cryptocurrency Is Not a Fad
Some people think about cryptocurrency being something that will blow over in a few years' time. But currency, when it is used, defines its very existence. While a Bitcoin investment may not last forever, you've got to look at it in terms of the big picture.
The fact is that if there was a mass exodus from Bitcoin, it would take a long time to occur. Even if you would be concerned about Bitcoin, the fact is that if you have a grandparent that really is raising their eyebrows to it, it's worth their time because, without sounding too callous, it will last longer than they would! So why shouldn't they enjoy a bit more money?
Crypto Is Not a Criminal Pastime
Something that people talk about constantly when it comes to Bitcoin or cryptocurrency is the potential for criminal dealings. But, news flash, before Bitcoin was invented there was a little something called the Black Market! Black market trading was done in any currency. Yes, criminals use cryptocurrency but they use every other type of currency as well! And it's also worth pointing out that because of the Bitcoin ledger that records all of the transactions, it's easier to actually trace any theft back to the person. The Blockchain itself is unchangeable, so you can't delete transaction history or hack into it.
Naturally, a lot of people are skeptical about cryptocurrency. However, it's something that a lot of people are coming round to. We have to remember that currency has changed in so many forms over the years it has been in existence. Salt was a valuable currency once upon a time, which is something that we could not fathom now. While there are many skeptics around, there is plenty of evidence to show them that it really might be woring their toe into.
